Very soon you will be able to book your dog/s online using our SAVVY PET SPA APP. or directly from the bubbles Facebook website and instagram.
Our expert groomers will help you choose an appropriate grooming service to suit the age, coat-type and breed of your dog and help you understand how to maintain your dog's coat between grooms.
To ensure your puppy is introduced to grooming in a positive way our groomers will use treats and patiently work around your puppy in an stress-free way.
We suggest a bath & tidy for the first groom as soon as they have had all their vaccines. Better still why not buy a Puppy Introduction To Grooming Package and have the same groomer educate and develop your pup's resilience to all the stimuli but feel safe and familiar.
It is distressing to how some dogs suffer from skin & coat irregularities that cause continual discomfort which is why the owner has studied skin & coat therapy. With the correct therapy and products it is possible to return the skin biome to function normally again.
Many self-run service businesses, like Bubbles Dog Spa & Groom, cannot afford the lost revenue one NO SHOW causes. Unlike Government subsidised or corporate businesses, the costs are a large percentage of the takings. Thus when someone cancels too late or doesn't show to an appointment we cannot replace their dog in time and the owner has to pay for wages, as well as cover running expenses, without a sale to cover those costs. By using a client's 50% deposit when they don't show will at least cover wages.
From September 2024 when you book an appointment online, over the phone or as a walk in you will be charge a 50% deposit. If you give 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule you will be able to get your deposit back or transfer it to the rescheduled booking. Less than 48 hours notice will mean your deposit is forfeited and used to cover staff wages used to find other dogs or move around the days appointments.
This is a good question. If a customer doesn't wish to re-book at the time of their dog's appointment then they will just pay the difference between their deposit and their groom cost. However if they do choose to re-book they will still pay the difference BUT we will re-use their first deposit. It is known as a rolling deposit.
If you book, pay a deposit and complete your appointments every 6 to 8 weeks (without changing your dates around causing admin. time), after rolling your deposit over 10 times we are will reward you with a free groom to be taken at a time of your choosing. Because we appreciate your loyalty.
Go to the Grooming Services Page on this website and you will see a chart of groom costs
We estimate the groom cost by these factors: 1. Weight 2. Length 3. Condition of the fur & 4. Dog's behaviour.
So whether you are booking online, over the phone or texting, remember to tell us as much as possible about these four factors.
Rule: If your dog is reactive or has a matted/knotty coat you need to add one to two sizes. Often tiny dogs like toy poodles are very fiddly and should be booked in as a small to allow us time.
If you just want an easy maintenance cut you just need to choose the weight.
If you maintain your dog's long coat and wish to have a long clip please choose Comb Clip for your dogs size.
Unfortunately some dog coats are more suseptable to matting because of environment and fur type. Our experienced groomers will decide how much length can be saved by using de-shedding techniques first but sometimes the dog's fur is matted too close to the skin and quite a health problem.. Severe matting can disable a dog and stop blood flow especially to ears and tails. Then it becomes more about the dog's wellbeing and needs to be done skillfully to avoid cuts and nicks and not stress the dog out. This takes time and care.
Some nails grow too long because they don't run around on hard surfaces to wear them down, the nail curve will force the foot into an unnatural position and can cause future arthritic pain. Dew claws can easily grow into the skin if kept unchecked.
The groomers will pluck the ears gently on most dogs and check them for signs of infection.
We won't however deep clean as this is better done by the vet.
Unless your double coated dog is matted badly, we always advise a de-shed and/or tidy because their coat has it's own thermoregulation to release heat in summer and to build an undercoat to keep them warm in winter. Shaving a double coated dog will cause the guard hair to shorten every shave, eventually giving way to the soft undercoat outgrowing the top guard hair, ruining the coats natural protection and beauty as well as causing it to felt more easily in the future.
See the question above relating to dog coming every 6 weeks and paying a deposit.
