INTRODUCING YOUR PUPPY TO GROOMING
Many owners cherish the dependance a puppy has on them but it is important to prepare them for the world out-side, so they never experience anxiety and fear of new environments.
We strongly suggest that your puppy gets used to new exciting situations with people, dogs, sounds, smells and handling as soon as they have had all their vaccinations because a puppy’s brain is plastic and can adapt and learn very quickly. It is very important then that these experiences are positive to help them become resilient for life.
A grooming salon is excellent for this growth and training for them. Some dogs love the pet salon while others fear it. A reputable grooming salon makes extra effort to make a pup’s time there as enjoyable and as stress free as possible but this new environment with loud noises from the clippers and blow dryers and sharing space with strange dogs can be overwhelming for some, especially if they don’t mix with other dogs and people very often.
Unless a puppy is extremely introverted, they will most often love the play with other dogs and adapt very quickly to the sensations of bath and blowers, clippers and being held by the groomer (because cuddling a puppy is good for a groomer’s wellbeing also).
We take great pride in our care and training of new puppies and feel rewarded when they finally relax and go with this new experience.
The staff at Bubbles Dog Spa & Groom know the importance of introducing your puppy to grooming early on in their life and offer First Groom Packages to make it easier for the owner.
